May 2014

Ryandale Shelter is thrilled to announce that a significant portion of the cost of a new roof for our shelter at 23 Elm Street will be funded by the Home Depot Canada Foundation, an initiative to fund repairs to housing accommodation for Canadian youth in need. Renovations later this summer will include the removal and replacement of shingles, roof sheeting and flashing, and the removal and replacement of the portion of our 2nd story ceiling affected by a leak.

Thanks to the support of the Home Depot Canada Foundation, youth and other residents will be able to access the indoor area of the shelter affected by the damage, as it will not need to be closed for safety reasons. Residents will continue to receive the same quality and level of support. Stay tuned for updates and photos of the upcoming project!
