Ryandale Shelter recently welcomed the exciting opportunity to take part in the United Way’s Day of Caring, in which some 40 hard-working volunteers completed various gardening and maintenance tasks at both of Ryandale’s properties.
The emergency shelter at 23 Elm Street and the Transition House received a summer makeover thanks to the energetic students and professionals who were organized through the United Way and worked tirelessly to improve the look and feel of our housing facilities. Tasks included the construction of colourful flowerbeds, painting and staining the front porch, the removal of garbage and unnecessary items, pressure-washing outer walls and the replacement of window screens.
Ryandale Shelter would like to express our gratitude to the United Way and its generous volunteers for their hard work on the Day of Caring and year-round.
